I have a couple of lower chrs

deleting a couple of old chrs...need info
I have a couple of lower chrs that I want to delete. right now I am starting a new chr and thought I would just send what little gold and bags they had to him before deleting, then I got to thinking about this

If I mail something and then delete the chr does the mail still get sent or is it deleted as well?

Same thing but another way what would happen if I sent something to a chr that was deleted before the long delay on delivery...is that item returned to sender?

thanks for info I wanted to ask before deleting them

If you mail something from a character of the same account to a different character of the same account, the mail instantly shows up in the mailbox of the character that you sent it to, bypassing the hour wait rule. If you delete the character from which you mailed from, the character that recieves the mail will see the sender as "unknown", but the items or gold will still all be there.

I think this may answer both your questions.
Mail between characters on the same account (I'm assuming you only have the 1 account, since you mention deleting some to make room for the new one) is instantaneous now.

So, if you send something from a character and then delete that character, it should still get to the recipient if he/she is on the same account (since it will get there almost as soon as you hit SEND). I don't know what would happen if you delete after sending something to some other character where the 1 hour delay kicks in. I would assume it would go through, but the person recieving it would see "Unknown" in place of the senders name.

As for sending something to a character that you then delete. It would be almost impossible to do (if they are on the same account) because the mail is to that character as soon as you hit SEND. You couldn't SEND, then log out and delete the intended receiver fast enough to beat the mail.

if you send a message from one character to another on the same account, then go and delete the recipient, the mail is deleted, since it was in their inbox at the time of deletion. if for some reason you send a message from one character to another AFTER the recipient has already been deleted, you'll receive an error upon sending to the effect that the character doesn't exist
