Facts about the AV change

The Horde starting point being placed farther back is actually very slightly a horde buff, since it leads to puggers more naturally defending the Iceblood chokepoint, which is the primary winning strategy the Horde uses. Pug on pug, this has increased the win ratio of the horde by a fair margin in my battlegroup; Its not going about 45/55 Alliance/Horde in AV, up from 85/15 pre-patch. This is a good thing, as alliance queue times have dropped from 45 minutes to 6 minutes.

The Current State of PvP

Drysc from Blizzard had the following to say in response to all the changes being made in WoW PvP, or lack thereof.

Regarding spec viability we would definitely like to see every spec at least partially viable, that doesn't mean however that each spec will be equal in a very cutthroat PvP environment like the arenas. A prot warrior or shadow priest or what have you should though be able to jump into a battleground or arena and be able to do something with some small amount of success. How much success that should be is really the question, but our general philosophy is that we're ok with some specs not being as viable as others, we sort of have to be.

Death Knight details

BlizzCon is in full swing, but sadly, I'm not there. However, holding down the fort back home does have one advantage: I'm free to scour the internet for things like this 1up article, which brings some interesting details to light about the Death Knight class. The DK is the most interesting feature of Wrath of the Lich King as far as I'm concerned and, according to them, here's how it'll work:

Make WoW-Arena a seperate game

I rarely (if ever) post a topic here on General forums. I sometimes visit, but the sheer unmitigated vitriol, spite and aggro that I'm seeing posted here is disgusting.

It's almost ALL related to Arena's and the constant buff/nerf cycle that's rippling out and affecting EVERYONE due to the constant and consistent bloody QQ'ing that is flooding every single damned forum here.

I raid, i 'sometimes' PVP, but this whole Arena nonesense has to stop!

My most crushing moment ever on WOW

It could be the time I was first ever healing with my druid, in Wailing Caverns. Mostly a group I knew(hubby, best friend, his family member), plus someone our friend knew. Made it just fine until the last elemental guy. The 'other friend' died just as we killed the big guy. And he sat there for 5 minutes telling me how incompetent I was, etc. I have only healed one instance since then(and it was BRD with 2 dual-dagger-wielding warriors and we died so many times, I hate that place with a passion). They ruined me and my confidence. Jerks.

World of Warcraft: Keep it Casual!

Behind the hardcore power-levelers and cutthroat guilds, World of Warcraft is a game that can actually be fun!. Here is why I am happy as a casual gamer, enjoying the escapism that World of Warcraft is so good at.

where the warrior trainer is

Shaman Trainer: ... and that's how you purge enemy buffs off them, pretty cool huh? Hunter: Very, I'll have to use that on my Arcane shot Shaman Trainer: Wait no, you can't do that I was just kidding, okay? Hunter: Do you know where the warrior trainer is? My aimed shot is lacking "oomph"

who else is with me in having a hell of a time

I'm just curious on who else is with me in having a hell of a time even deciding on a side (alliance/horde) and/or a class. I redownloaded WoW, and I'm downloading the latest patch as we speak. My problem right now? I can't decide what class. I'm the type who wants to spend my time on one - because in about 4 months my first child will be here, and at that point I'm not really going to be playing anymore. So I don't want to spend all my time in the same zones leveling up a few different classes. Then I always tend to get bored with a class around 20 or so. Perhaps it's that I feel rather strong until the 20's, and then I hit zones that make my class feel week (which happened with my Mage, Druid, and Warrior). The ones I do stick out (like my Hunter and Priest) I just start to get tired of their flaws. I wish this game had a "create a class" where I could pick skill sets as I leveled and basically create my own class based on what I want - instead of being stuck with what Blizzard thinks each class should be. Anyway - anyone have a hell of a time ever settling on a specific class?

I have a couple of lower chrs

I have a couple of lower chrs that I want to delete. right now I am starting a new chr and thought I would just send what little gold and bags they had to him before deleting, then I got to thinking about this

If I mail something and then delete the chr does the mail still get sent or is it deleted as well?

Same thing but another way what would happen if I sent something to a chr that was deleted before the long delay on delivery...is that item returned to sender?
